Every great story has its heroes — and this spring, the heroes of Homestead Village have been our residents, families, and friends. Their collective superpower? Generosity. Together, they’ve propelled the Thriving Together Campaign to 72% of our $6 million goal, a milestone that shows just how powerful our community can be.
That momentum only grew as our community stepped up to conquer the $300,000 Matching Challenge — and achieved an entire month early. Every gift was doubled, every act of generosity amplified, and together we surpassed the challenge with inspiring speed and heart. Thank you to all who helped reach this goal.

Volunteer Spotlight:
Some residents quietly shape the heart of Homestead Village, and Ann Treier is one of them. A cottage resident whose quiet leadership and deep commitment to community have made a lasting impact.
Ann and her late husband, Jack, were well known in Lancaster County as the longtime owners of Treier Moving & Storage, a family business built on integrity, hard work, and service. That same spirit of service has carried into Ann’s life at Homestead Village. She is an active and thoughtful member of several resident committees, always offering insight, encouragement, and a steady presence.
In addition to her volunteer leadership, Ann chose a meaningful way to support Homestead Village’s future: she directed her refundable entrance fee to benefit the community she loves. This generous decision reflects her belief in strengthening Homestead Village for the residents who are here today and those who will call it home in the years ahead.
We are grateful for Ann’s kindness, her commitment to community life, and the legacy she continues to build at Homestead Village.

Homestead Village lost a cherished friend and steadfast leader this spring with the passing of Harry Radcliffe, a resident whose presence shaped our community for more than 26 years. Harry and his beloved wife, Kathleen, shared a deep commitment to Homestead Village, and their generosity and vision continue to touch residents’ lives every day.
Harry’s passion for ensuring exceptional care for all residents is reflected throughout our campus. The Apostle Center for Care, Radcliffe House, and Fickes House stand as lasting reminders of the Radcliffes’ extraordinary support during the 2008 capital campaign. Their belief in compassionate, person‑centered care helped make these spaces possible, and their impact continues to be felt by every resident who calls Homestead Village home.
Beyond his philanthropy, Harry gave generously of his time and leadership. He served as Resident Council President, Chairman of the Board of Directors, and, most recently, as a dedicated member of the Thriving Together Campaign Committee. In every role, Harry brought wisdom, humility, and a genuine desire to strengthen the community he loved.
Harry often spoke about what made Homestead Village special: the people, the sense of belonging, and the commitment to caring for one another. His affection for this place was unmistakable, and his steady presence enriched the lives of neighbors, staff, and friends alike.
As we remember Harry, we honor not only his years of service but the spirit with which he gave them — wholeheartedly, graciously, and always with the well-being of others in mind. His legacy lives on in the buildings he helped create, the committees he guided, and the community he helped shape.
We are grateful for Harry’s life, his leadership, and his enduring love for Homestead Village. His legacy continues to inspire the “Thriving. Together! Campaign” and the future we are building.
