Supportive Services for Residents in Apartments: Enhancing Independence and Dignity
Unlike any other community in Lancaster County, Homestead Village is licensed to provide residents with personal care services for short- or long-term periods of time right in their apartments through the Supportive Services program. This unique program allows for residents to thrive where they are, and not have to relocate or downsize to another part of campus if they need personal care. It also means that couples can stay together in their apartment, even if only one person requires care.

Because needs for support vary from person to person, an individualized support plan is designed for each participant, with input from the resident, the responsible party, and staff. As the needs of the resident change, the support plan is revised in consultation with an interdisciplinary team. If the resident regains independence and is able to complete daily activities of living, the support plan is discontinued once the minimum contract period is completed.
