President Douglas Motter recently received the exciting news that Homestead Village has been selected as a finalist in Central Penn Business Journal’s 2019 Nonprofit Innovation Awards!
An awards breakfast will be held on Wednesday, March 20, from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Valencia Ballroom in York to recognize each of the selected 29 central Pennsylvania nonprofit organizations and their leaders for developing creative ways to help the region’s citizens despite limited resources.
During the program, the winning organization in each category – Homestead Village is one of 12 nominees in the Programs Category – will be revealed and they will receive a check to continue their good work in our community.
Homestead Village has been nominated for this award based on their work with older adults in an exceptional and forward-thinking way to help them thrive in the community. The “Thrive Where You Are” initiative was designed to evolve with the changing mindset, culture, and desires of individuals who decide to move to Life Plan Communities. The four major pillars of the Thrive Where You Are program are Proactive Wellness Measures, Home Care Services, Transportation, and a one-of-a-kind apartment building that is licensed for Personal Care. The design of the apartment building allows couples to stay together longer, and residents to stay in their apartment when supportive services are needed.
Homestead Village has always been a believer in the “Culture Change” initiative of making senior living better for Residents. The “Thrive Where You Are” concept pioneers this concept in ways that no other community in Lancaster is doing.
The 2019 Nonprofit Innovation Awards are made possible by a partnership of the Central Penn Business Journal, the Lancaster County Community Foundation, the Foundation for Enhancing Communities, and the York County Community Foundation. Program sponsors include: First National Bank, Maher Duessel, Philadelphia Insurance Companies, Temple University Harrisburg, UPMC HealthPlan, and Title N Go.

Homestead Village was honored as a finalist at the 2019 Central Penn Business Journal Non-Profit Innovation Awards ceremony.
