2026 is significant as Homestead Village celebrates its 40th anniversary—a milestone that reflects decades of commitment to our mission and community.
Throughout the year, we will highlight important moments and milestones of Homestead Village’s History in our publications and platforms! Special events will also be planned to incorporate some additional fun. Below are a few notable events that took place in January over the years!
Even in the winter cold, Homestead Village continued to grow! Our fourth neighborhood, The Mews, came to be in January 2003!

In January 2003 Homestead Village purchased approximately thirty acres of land located just west of Good Drive to develop the Mews Neighborhood.

Final Approval to build The Mews was also received from East Hempfield Township in January 2003.

Don Glasford, former Homestead President, greets Bob & Louise Williams and Bob and Bea Rill at the Glasford Room Dedication. Mr. Glasford served as Homestead Village’s President for eleven years. During this special event, Don cut the ribbon to officially open what was (at the time) Homestead Village’s most elegant room and the centerpiece of dining services. While this space is no longer used for dining, and is now the office suite across from Solis Café, we still honor Mr. Glasford and his legacy.
